WOW! Its a
Reading Rainbow
A LabLinks Project for Blue Heron Elementary School.

Oh Oh! The 1st and 2nd graders need help. All the new books in our media center are making them wonder which ones to read. They can't make up thier minds and really need your advice!

Please Help! Work with three other students to write, perform, video tape, and edit a Reading Rainbow commerical about your group's
favorite book. Collaborate on the writing portion of the project and then decide which team members would be best suited for the speaking part, videotaping, and editing the final commercial. And REMEMBER, this is a commercial. It MUST NOT be over 30 seconds long.

1.
To get a better idea about what your commercial could look like, click on this Reading Rainbow. It will take you to a web site that lists books in alphabetical order. Listen to one book advertisement for each letter of the alphabet. (that's 26). Don't rush it. Observe each commerical well. Try to determine why they were selected to appear on this web site.

2. When you have finished looking at the Reading Rainbow commercials you should have a good idea about how to promote your favorite book in a commercial. In order to make your final video commercial you will use iMovie software in the iMac lab. Your teacher will teach you to use the software and our digital cameras and camcorders before you start production.

Ahh! There is really nothing like reading a good book.

Have fun, but be sure your commerical is Verrrrrrrry interesting because they are going to be played over the Blue Heron video system during Feature Friday so all the 1st and 2nd graders can watch them.
