The White Guidance Office is inside the White Main Office.  A student’s counselor is determined by the student’s last name.  There are three counselors and a guidance secretary in each building.  Click below to find out more information about the guidance staff.

SCHEDULE CHANGE GUIDELINES
During the registration process, students are encouraged to make careful course selections because of the impact of course registration on the development of the master schedule and staffing for the upcoming school year.  Requested changes to a student’s schedule must be submitted to the Guidance Office of the appropriate Counselor on a Schedule Request Form during the week prior to the start of a quarter or the on the first day of the quarter.  Requests must have signatures from parents and the appropriate teachers.  No schedule changes are allowed after the first three days of the quarter.  Students who drop a class after the first three days will automatically receive a NC (no credit) for the class (which is included in the student’s grade point average).
Changes due to scheduling errors will be a priority.  These include:

·
    No prerequisite
·
    Failed a prerequisite
·
    Gaps in schedule
·
Educational Options (i.e. PSEO and Century Technical College Courses)
Not all requests for schedule changes can be honored.  Examples of requests not honored are, but are not limited to:
·    Changing teachers
·
    Changing class hours
·
    Requesting classes with friends
·
    Switching due to activities participation
·
    Dropping required classes
·
    Convenience
·
Dropping below 3 credits a quarter
For Juniors and Seniors:  The maximum number of study halls, classroom aide, or office aide positions allowed per year is two and placement of these are encouraged to be in the student’s schedule by the end of the first week of school.  Classrooms aide positions must be assigned for 1st and 2nd quarter during the first week of school and aide positions must be assigned for 3rd and 4th quarter during the first week of the 3rd quarter.
Students should note that fulfilling schedule change requests may create other uncontrollable changes in their schedule.  DO NOT ASSUME a change has been made UNTIL the counselor returns the Schedule Request Form along with a new schedule to the student.  Absences resulting when students do not attend their scheduled classes while waiting on schedule change requests are unexcused.
