Ruth Resendiz Olson joined the Centennial High School Guidance Team in February of 2008. Ms. Olson’s educational background includes her bachelor’s degree which she earned in 1990 from Bethel College in language arts secondary education; but, this is not Ms. Olson’s first time at Centennial. She completed her student teaching here in what was the former junior high (current red building) and taught English there full time for two years in the early ‘90s. After getting married, Ms. Olson spent some time living in Wisconsin and earned her master’s degree in school guidance and counseling from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. She interned at Spring Lake Park before earning her first position as a licensed school counselor in the Osseo district, working at Park Center Senior High for eight years. Ms. Olson and her family have resided in Circle Pines for the past 11 years, and when the opening came along to work at Centennial, Ms. Olson was thrilled to apply. In her spare time, Ms. Olson enjoys running road races and training for marathons. All students with last names beginning in letters A – D are assigned to Ms. Olson. | ||||||

Mrs. Hakes has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. She earned her master’s degree in School Counseling from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. She is a member of the MN School Counseling Association and the American School Counselor Association. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, shopping, and outdoor/fitness activities. | |||||||

Ms. Sibley is a graduate of Augsburg College where she earned a bachelor's in studio arts, K-12 arts education and psychology. She received a master's in Art Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Superior and later went on to receive her license in K-12 school guidance counseling. She is experienced in classroom teaching, has worked as an at-risk coordinator, and has background in working with special education. Along with her educational experiences she has a history in clinical mental health practices and day treatment programming/implementation. She is a member of the Minnesota School Counselors Association. When not working she is a parent of 2 children and enjoys the art's, kayaking and most outdoor activities. | ||||||

Mrs. Law is a southeastern Wisconsin native. She has a bachelor's degree in Sociology from The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. After graduating she worked at a residential treatment center in West Bend, Wisconsin. Later she received her master's degree in School Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is a member of the MN School Counseling Association and served two years as Co-President of the Anoka School Counselor's Association. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Her interests include playing softball & volleyball, traveling, spending time at the lake, watching football and hockey. | ||||||

Ms. Neumann is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls , where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and speech communications. Her background is working with at-risk youth in the community and in schools. She received her master's in school counseling from River Falls. Ms. Neumann has been a school counselor since 2005. She is a member of the American School Counselor Association and Minnesota School Counselor Association. She enjoys hiking, watching hockey and walking her dog. | ||||||

Mrs. Rehnelt earned her bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and began her career as a high school math teacher before moving to a counseling position. She has a master's from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. One of her favorite experiences in education was spending a month in Australia as part of a teacher program through the University Wisconsin - Whitewater. The most exciting part of the trip was snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. She is a member of the Minnesota School Counselor Association (MSCA) and served 2 years as co-president of the Anoka division. She was proud to be recognized at the MSCA state conference as one of 11 counselors in Minnesota whose student won the MSCA/TCF scholarship for writing an essay on how their school counselor helped them succeed in school. Her interests include beading, scrap-booking, reading , skiing and traveling. | ||||||
