
Centennial
was named a National School of Excellence by the United States Department
of Education. Students and staff strive for excellence in academics,
activities, the arts, and service to the community. Centennial students
compete in athletics and activities in the Northwest Suburban Conference
of the Minnesota State High School League. CHS students are strong
competitors receiving honors in academics, the arts, and athletics.
CHS features a two building campus with students participating
in classroom and after school activities in both buildings. The
building on the east end of the campus is called the red building
(with door labeling beginning with D1). West of the red building
is the white building (with door labeling beginning with C1).
Other buildings on the campus include the District Office (door
labeling beginning with B1), Centennial Elementary (door labeling
beginning with A1), and the Centennial Sports Arena (door labeling
beginning with E1).
Centennial operates on a four-block schedule with 85 minute classes.
School start time is 8:20 am and ends at 3 pm. Principal Tom Breuning
is assisted by Assistant Principals Dr. Bonnie A. Thoms, Karen Allen, Dan Wrobleski
and Activities Director Brian Hegseth. Click

*Scholarship News*
On Thursday, May 21, 2009, Centennial High School
held its annual Scholarship and Academic Awards Night. This year
56 students were awarded local scholarships. Over 30 area businesses,
community and school organizations, families and individuals in
the community have generously contributed to the Centennial Area
Scholarship Program. This year approximately $45,550 was awarded
to Centennial seniors.
