Site Council Minutes

School Closing Broadcasts

In cases of inclement weather and/or emergencies necessitating the closing of Centennial Schools #12, broadcasts
will be made on the following radio station:

WCCO - AM (830)

Due to the construction site in the front east side we have temporarily lost our designated drop-off area for parents
driving their children to school.

Fortunately, this won’t be the case for the entire year; but in the meantime we ask that you not drive in the front
when buses are parked or unloading students.  It would be extremely helpful if you would park in the parking lot
and walk your child across the street.  We also ask you to do the same if you are picking up your child after school.
No parking is allowed on the street in front of the school after 3:00 p.m. due to the buses lining up for the end of
the day dismissal.  Thank you for your cooperation and help in making our school a safe place.

From the School Nurse:

Just a reminder: If you are getting or have gotten a new pager or cell phone recently, please add your new number to your child/ren’s health card.
In this busy day and age when parents are on the go, it makes our job much easier to locate you if your child should become injured or sick during the
school day. You may do this by calling the school health office at 763-792-5826 or send a note with your child in care of the office.

Thank You!

Wise Guy's Pizza in Centerville has again agreed to donate $1.00 for every pizza sold on Wednesdays.  This money will
go toward student activities and student supplies.  Help support our school by ordering a pizza (or two) from Wise Guys
on Wednesdays!

Calling all Cartridges:
Centerville collects and recycles used printer cartridges, home or office varieties.  Money is used to buy new software.  Please send
them to the CVE Office attn:  Lori Sullivan.  Old cell phones are also recycled.

VOLUNTEER CORNER

A round of applause goes to:  *Pam Burke, Kelly Nadeau, Deb Thill, Mary Heron and Paula Kwiatkowski for helping with a project
for the upcoming Peace Site Rededication.

*Mrs. Biehn, Mrs. Prax, Mrs. Cordero, Mrs. Macheledt, Mrs. Swanson, Mrs. Kimmes, and Ms. Leisch’s 5th grade class for cutting 600 paper doves, also for the Peace Site Rededication.

*Rob Sheppard for volunteering his time and talent to construct a new background set for our Morning Announcements.

*The countless volunteers who gave of their time in December to help with learning experiences and special projects.  There was more than 400 hours of volunteer time given in December.  The dedication of Centerville volunteers is obvious by the growing number of helping hands reaching around our school hallways.  Give yourselves a hand!!

Feel free to visit our site by navigating to http://www.centennial.k12.mn.us and then selecting the Instructional Resources link.  It is designed to support
and extend our local on-site Media Center collections and serves as a guide for student research.  Use it to help your child complete a homework assignment
or just use it for your own personal research needs.

You do need to have Netscape or Internet Explorer 4.0.   There are links to an animal encyclopedia, Compton's online dictionary, "Ask Jeeves for Kids"
