Renee Dietz Named 2013 Teacher of the Year

Centennial Education Association (CEA) has selected Renee Dietz as the Teacher of the Year. Renee, an Early Childhood Special Educator, once read a quote that said “Don’t work for recognition—do work that is worthy of recognition,” and that is the motto she has always believed in. Renee will be nominated for state-wide honors through Education Minnesota in the fall. Congratulations, Renee!

 

The District Takes a Look at Changing School Start Times

The District proposes changes to school start times and busing schedules, effective 2013-2014. District administration studied the impact of start times on student learning and other school operations, including bus transportation.

U.S. News & World Report ranked Centennial High School 21st out of 772 schools in the state of Minnesota for its student performance and preparing students for college-level work.

Centennial students, grades 4-8, have been developing problem-solving skills through the Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP). Two teams landed an opportunity to advance to the international competition to be held at the University of Indiana in June.
