Tutors Needed for Minnesota Reading Corps and Math Corps

July 19, 2013

Experience life-changing growth. Become a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Math Corps.

Minnesota Reading Corps—the nation’s largest state AmeriCorps program—and its sister program, Minnesota Math Corps, are looking to place over 1,000 literacy tutors and math tutors in schools across Minnesota. Tutors not only change the world of kids who are struggling in school, they experience professional and personal growth.

Tutors help kids grow toward becoming successful readers by the end of third grade, or proficient in math by the end of eighth grade. As a tutor, you’ll receive training in research-based strategies, build your career network and receive an education award of up to $5,550 to further your own education. In addition, you’ll earn a living allowance ($480 biweekly for full-time) and the reward of making a real impact in your community.

Whether you’re looking to reenter the workforce or start a new career, you can help create growth in our communities. Apply today to become a tutor! Go to www.MinnesotaReadingCorps.org or www.MinnesotaMathCorps.org. If accepted, you’ll begin your 11-month service in August. Send questions to recruitment@mnedc.org.

One year. This year. Serve to grow.
