Welcome to homeschooling in the Centennial School District! As a homeschool administrator, it is essential that you follow all state and district requirements to ensure your program is in compliance.

Enrollment
Enrollment Deadline:
- Enrollment paperwork is due by October 1 each year OR within 15 days of withdrawing from the public school.
First-Year Families:
- Submit an Initial Registration Form to the district office.
Returning Families (Year 2+):
- Submit a Letter of Intent to the district office to continue homeschooling.
- Include any updates (e.g., graduated students, test selection changes, updated immunization records, change of address).
Enrollment confirmation:
- Enrollment confirmation can be emailed upon request, provided your paperwork has been received and email address is included.
Compulsory Instruction Age:
- Students ages 7-17 (as of October 1) must be enrolled in homeschool.
- Students under age 7 who were previously enrolled in Kindergarten or higher must also be enrolled.
Requirements
Annual Testing:
- Minnesota law requires homeschool students to take a standardized, nationally normed achievement test each year.
- The test name must be included with registration and re-enrollment.
- Test scores are not submitted to the district but must be kept in your records.
- Visit the Minnesota Statewide Testing Program (MSTP) for more information.
Subject Requirements:
- Homeschool instructors must cover Communication, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Physical Education.

Record keeping:
- Maintain records, transcripts, curriculum information, and report cards for each student.
Services and Supports
Special Education:
- Homeschooled students may access special education services at their local public school.
- Contact the school's special education lead for arrangements.
Shared Time:
- Students may enroll in individual public school classes through "shared time."
- Contact the public school administration office for details.
Nonpublic Student Aid:
- Supports may include health services, guidance, and textbook aid.
- Reimbursement funds are available annually for qualifying textbooks, tests, and purchases.
- Reimbursement rates for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Textbooks, tests, instructional materials: $132.98 per full-time student
- Pupil health services: $81.97 per student
- Secondary pupil guidance and counseling services: $358.75 per student
- Nonpublic Student Aid Request forms for qualifying purchases are due by October 1 each school year.
- Receipts for qualifying purchases are due April 30, 2026.
It is essential that all required documents are submitted by the stated due dates. These deadlines are mandated by the state, and late submissions may prevent the district from registering your student for the school year.
Paperwork may be submitted online (where available), mail, or email. All reporting forms must be submitted no later than October 1.
