Transfer Credit Guidelines
In accordance with Minnesota statute, homeschooling is an option available to families. For homeschool coursework to transfer as credit to Centennial Schools, the following conditions must be met. Approved credits will be recorded as homeschool credits. The Senior High Guidance Department will review all submitted coursework to determine alignment with existing courses and graduation requirements. Credits that do not match a current course may be awarded as general elective credit.
To be eligible for credit transfer, families must provide:
- A Minnesota Compulsory Instruction Report on file with the Curriculum Office.
- Documentation showing that required subjects were taught and required tests were administered. This must include class schedules, copies of instructional materials, descriptions of assessment methods, and scores from any tests given.
- Evidence of one full academic year of study or mastery of the subject matter for each high school credit requested.
- Confirmation that the student's total enrollment does not exceed 1.0. A student may not be enrolled full-time at Centennial High School and simultaneously enrolled in a homeschool program. Students must either reduce their enrollment at Centennial High School or complete homeschool coursework only during the summer when the high school is not in session.
