Centennial Connect Pen Pal Program

Make meaningful connections in the community while social distancing.

Together with the Mary Ann Young Center-Blaine, Centennial Community Education aims to connect youth in the community with an older adult to partner in meaningful written correspondence.  This will be a way to provide those in the community much-needed interaction and engagement during this isolating time of social distancing.

In this ever-digital age, participants will both benefit from the skill of handwriting a letter and the joy and anticipation of receiving a physical correspondence in the mail.

Participants will be asked to write three letters. Have fun with the letters, share your stories, be yourself and be open to learning life lessons and stories from someone of an older generation.

If you are interested in participating in the Centennial Pen Pal Program we ask that you fill out the brief survey HERE so that we can match you up with the best pen pal for you!

Suggestions and helpful hints for letters and even a sample letter can be found below.
