Covid-19 Health Information
The health and safety of our school community is a top priority, Centennial Schools partners with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for guidance and planning regarding Covid-19.
What to Do if You Have Covid-19:
As of March 1, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their isolation directions for those with COVID-19 to align with other respiratory illnesses.
Students and staff members should stay home when they are sick. They can return when they have been fever-free for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medication), and symptoms are improving overall.
The CDC then recommends using added prevention strategies over the next five days such as enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, and keeping a distance from others to lower the chance of spreading respiratory viruses to others.
We ask that parents/guardians continue to report Covid-19, influenza, influenza-like illnesses and GI illnesses when completing school attendance for their students.
Note: Masks will not be required for students or staff in school buildings or on buses; however, staff and students may wear a mask should they choose to do so.
Covid-19 Testing
Please visit the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) website for more information related to where to get tested, types of tests, and what to expect.
Covid-19 Vaccination Resources
In addition to basic health and hygiene practices, the CDC recommends staying up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccinations. Please talk to your healthcare provider and visit the MDH website for the most up-to-date information regarding Covid-19 vaccination recommendations and vaccination sites.
Centennial School District continues to work closely with the Minnesota Department of Health for guidance and surveillance of Covid-19 cases within the district. Adjustments in safe planning will be made as needed to maintain a healthy environment for all.
