Understanding the Needs Across Centennial Schools
Centennial Schools are places where students learn, connect, and prepare for their futures. To keep those learning environments strong, the district has been studying the condition and capacity of its facilities over the past several years through Centennial Forward, the long-range planning process.
The intent of Centennial Forward is to identify the most pressing educational and facility needs, understand financial limitations, and develop a responsible plan to maintain safe, flexible, and efficient schools for the next decade.
Over the past several years, two groups have helped guide the work. Together, these two teams developed solutions to address aging infrastructure and expand educational opportunities to enhance the student experience.
The Input Team: a group of around 60 stakeholders representing parents, staff, and community members, participated in a multi-year process reviewing facility conditions, enrollment projections, educational programming, co-curricular needs, and maintenance needs.
The Design Team: District leadership staff worked to define and prioritize concepts and key elements based on Input Team recommendations, focusing on improving current facilities and maximizing impact.
This collaborative process is central to our planning and we remain committed to ongoing engagement as we move forward.

Goals of the Long-Range Planning Committees
The Long-Range Planning Committees (LRPC) were charged to:
- Study enrollment and capacity across all schools
- Review facility conditions and long-term maintenance needs
- Assess learning spaces for flexibility and collaboration
- Evaluate safety, security, and health systems
- Consider activities and community spaces used by students and residents
- Explore fiscal realities and funding limitations to ensure responsible recommendations
These goals guided the development of planning themes that now shape the district’s draft plan.
Financial Context: Limited Resources
Centennial’s operational budget supports daily learning and staffing needs but cannot cover major facility projects. Long-Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) funding is limited and focuses on repairs, not updates. To meet identified facility and learning needs, additional long-term investment will be required.
Your Voice Matters
As the Centennial Forward plan is refined, community feedback is essential. Over the next several months, the district is engaging families, staff, and residents through small-group meetings, advisory committees, and an online feedback form.
Please review the information on this website and share your feedback via the form below. Your input will help refine priorities and guide recommendations slated to go before the School Board in Spring 2026.
