2017 TIES Exceptional Teacher Awards Announced

November 06, 2017

Congratulations to Amanda Daeger and Katie Guthmueller who are the recipients of the 2017 TIES Exceptional Teacher awards!  Amanda and Katie demonstrate a strong passion and commitment towards impacting student learning through the use of technology.  Please be sure to congratulate them as we continue celebrating the fantastic things happening in Centennial.

Amanda and Katie will be recognized at the annual TIES Conference in December, a future School Board Meeting, as well as in local and district publications.   Included below are descriptions on our award winners.

Amanda Daeger - Centennial High School Health/PE Teacher

Pushing limits is something Amanda Daeger enjoys doing at Centennial High School. That limit pushing is typically in the area of healthy living and physical education, which is why this high school Health/PE teacher is a perfect choice for TIES Exceptional Teacher honors for 2017.  Even as a young teacher in our district, Amanda has led by example and is revamping our Healthy Living hybrid course using the Schoology platform.  She continually expands the horizon on what is taught in Health & PE and enhances the learning experience for students.  Engaging students throughout her lessons is one of Amanda’s strengths, and she is very dedicated and works extra hours to accommodate the needs of students.

Katie Guthmueller - Centennial Elementary, First Grade Teacher

Katie Guthmueller has shown a drive and passion for integrating technology into her classroom from the start.  She maximizes her students’ hands-on availability to a variety of electronic and technology-related tools each day and accommodates families at their level with technology.  Katie is always willing to teach and/or help her CTE colleagues learn new things.  She will be a life-long learner and embracer of technology throughout her career.
