Beilby and Arends Nominated for “Triple A” Award for Excellence in Academics, Arts and Athletics

Madeline Beilby and Luke Arends, Centennial High School seniors, have been nominated for the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (Triple A).

Established in 1988, the Triple A Award acknowledges a male and female high school senior with a 3.0 or higher GPA who participates in League-sponsored athletic programs and fine arts activities such as theater, speech and music. Both Beilby and Arends are participants in a variety of programs at Centennial High School and involved in our communities. 

Beilby’s awards and activities at Centennial include Centennial Band ( 2years); Centennial Choir (2 years), Solo Contests “Superior” rating; Swim Team (4 years), Captain—All-Conference (2 years); Basketball (1 year); Golf (2 years), Captain;  Centennial High School Ski Club; Church Volunteer, Student Action Leadership Team; Miss Lino Lakes Ambassador.

Arends’ awards and activities at Centennial include National Honor Society; Centennial Band Ensemble; Cross-Country (4 years),--State Cross-Country Meet, 2015; Hockey (4 years), Captain—All-Conference; Lacrosse (4 years), Captain; President, Junior Class; Senior Class Committee; Elementary School Mentor; Church Youth Leader.

The MSHSL’s Administrative Regions will review the Triple A nominees from its member schools.  Centennial is in Region 5AA and will compete with 16 schools.  The top male and female students in the state, as determined by a points system, will be announced by MSHSL officials this spring.
