The District laid out its priorities of increasing the formula, making levy funding equal for all, and supporting unfunded mandates. We appreciate our legislators' willingness to take our concerns back to the Capitol as they work through the legislative session.
The District's 2023 priorities are ensuring the educational funding basic formula includes inflationary adjustments; ensuring property tax equalization between school districts to provide funding formulas that does not disproportionately impact districts and the student educational experience; creating a funding formula to fully fund special education; and authorizing school districts to assess and recover all applicable costs of fulfilling data requests.
