Centennial's Legislative Priorities Presented

Centennial staff presented three legislative priorities to Senator Roger Chamberlain and Representatives Linda Runbeck and Nolan West.

Priorities are:

  • Legislation on increasing the funding formula by 3% to reflect the growing cost of doing business. (Presented by Patrick Chaffey, Executive Director of Business Services)
  • Legislation on equalizing levy dollars. (Presented by Bruce Woznak, Teacher at Rice Lake Elementary and President of the Centennial Education Association; Dan Melde, Director of Human Resources; and Scott Johnson, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning)
  • Legislation on controlling the districts' costs of providing special education services. (Presented by Kathy Zwonitzer, Director of Student Services)

Superintendent Brian Dietz and Christopher Meng, a junior at Centennial High School, also spoke. Suzy Guthmueller, School Board Chair, was the emcee. Parents, community members, and staff attended.
