Five Centennial Schools Earn North Star Accountability Recognition

The Minnesota Department of Education sent out notice last week that five schools in the Centennial School District are among 526 public schools across the state being recognized as top 5% performers in multiple areas of progress in school performance: achievement and progress on state reading and math tests over time, progress toward English language proficiency, graduation rates and consistent attendance. The schools identified for this honor include Blue Heron Elementary, Centennial Elementary, Centerville Elementary, Centennial Middle School and Centennial High School.  The recognition is a key part of the state’s new North Star accountability system that aims to create more equitable and well-rounded learning opportunities for all students across the state.
