The teacher and his dad are standing by the steaming pot of syrup while students look on.
Mr. Stack, 6th grade social studies teacher, and his dad, Curt Stack, show the students how the tapped sap makes maple syrup.

Sixth grade students in Mr. Stack's social studies class tapped maple trees on school grounds and got a taste of how maple syrup is made. This learning experience is tied to Minnesota studies and the Ojibwe and Dakota people.

The students were surprised to learn 40 gallons of sap make one gallon of syrup!
