School Board Members Recognized for Their Service

Guthmueller Named to All-State School Board

Retiring School Board Chair Suzy Guthmueller and Directors Kathy Timm and Bob Vollbrecht were acknowledged for their service on the Centennial School Board at the December 19, 2022 meeting.

Kathy Timm has served on the Centennial School Board for the past eight years as director and clerk. She served on several committees, represented the school board, sitting on the Centennial Area Education Foundation Board to help foster partnership with our communities, learning and support for our students. She also represented Centennial Schools as a member of the Northeast Metro 916 School Board, to help ensure learning opportunities for all students.

Bob Vollbrecht was appointed in November of 2021 to serve a one-year term. Bob brought years of experience, serving on the Jordan Public Schools Board. He served on Centennial’s Systems Accountability Committee and negotiation committees for confidential employees and paraprofessionals.

Suzy Guthmueller has served on the Board for two decades, serving as chair for the past three years. She has served on numerous Centennial committees, was a member of the Executive Board of Schools for Equity in Education, working hard to ensure equitable funding for schools, and also served on the Minnesota State High School League Board, representing school board members and guiding co-curricular opportunities for students.

Guthmueller was also named to the Minnesota School Boards Association 2023 All-State School Board, the organization's most prestigious honor. The All-State School Board program, which began in 1971, recognizes board members who are committed to student achievement, determined to build support for their local schools, and unwavering in their pursuit of what’s best for students.
