Grace Torma and Kevin Jansa, Centennial High School seniors, have been nominated for the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (Triple A).
Established in 1988, the Triple A Award acknowledges a male and female high school senior with a 3.0 or higher GPA who participates in League-sponsored athletic programs and fine arts activities such as theater, speech and music. Both Torma and Jansa are participants in a variety of programs at Centennial High School.
Torma's awards and activities at Centennial include Junior Varsity Tennis; Varsity Hockey; Centennial Concert Choir (4 years); Small Women's Ensemble (2 years); Ovation, the extracurricular morning choir; solo for Region 5AA Solo/Ensemble Contest; National Honor Society; Peer Leader.
Jansa's awards and activities at Centennial include Captain of the Football and Basketball Teams; Honors Wind Ensemble (3 years); Section Leader, Jazz Band and Marimba Choir; National Honor Society.
The MSHSL’s Administrative Regions will review the Triple A nominees from its member schools. Centennial is in Region 5AA and will compete with 16 schools. The top male and female students in the state, as determined by a points system, will be announced by MSHSL officials this spring.
