Day trip to Washington D.C.

Instead of boarding the bus or driving to school, 18 Centennial High School students took a plane ride to Washington D.C. for the day to visit the Holocaust Museum. The trip was sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas. In all, around 180 students, first responders, and members of the Minnesota National Guard attended. Students experienced history personally, with one speaker telling the group about his family's experience in surviving the Holocaust. The afternoon was spent sightseeing--visiting monuments and attending a tour of the Capitol, led by Senator Klobuchar.
