Drinking Water Safety Plan

Centennial follows the Minnesota Department of Health's recommendation of testing its drinking supply sources (drinking water taps used for consumption) every five years. To reduce the levels in drinking water:

Flush Taps Before Use

The District will flush the taps of water sources that test above the threshold by running water for two to three minutes prior to using it for drinking or food preparation to reduce lead levels in the water.

Remove and Replace Fixtures and Materials as Needed

The District will remove drinking fountains from hallways and classrooms that test above the threshold. Those fixutures will be replaced and re-tested to insure the problem is resolved.
