 News from Mr. Hartmann...

I want to make you aware of an attendance reporting change that will take place Monday, September 27th.  We will be moving to an attendance form that is currently being used at the middle school and high school. The Blue Heron attendance email and phone line will no longer be operational. Here are some of the reasons we will be changing the way we do our attendance.

Common user experience across the district for submitting attendance

  • Parents will only need to submit attendance in one place
  • Submitting the google form also notifies the teacher of any early release or late arrivals

Beginning on Monday, September 27th parents will need to go to https://www.isd12.org/schools/elementary-schools/blue-heron-elementary and click on the Attendance Form (in red) to report any absence, late arrival, or early release.

The form will allow parents to report absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals.  Thank you for helping us to improve our attendance reporting procedures.

As always, if you have any questions or need any help with the new process, please don’t hesitate to call our office at 763-792-6200.

If students are absent for a longer period due to an illness or quarantining:
Once the teacher is made aware of the extended absence, the teacher will initiate communication when the assignments are available . (e.g. Schoology/Seesaw, e-mail, phone call)
If out for a longer period of time, the teacher will work alongside families to provide work. Please note that they won’t be able to provide all the work ahead of time as they are modifying instructional pacing as they work with kids in class.
Students will access their work via K-2 Seesaw, 3-5 Schoology, email and/or pick up in the office.

We will miss your smiling face at Blue Heron Elementary.

Health Office News

Opportunities for Nurse Subs

Are you a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN)? Do you enjoy working with students? Would you like to work the same hours your children are in school? If so, we would love to talk to you about opportunities to sub in our school health offices and/or go on field trips with students with health-related needs. Paid training is provided; there is no minimum amount required to sub each month. There are also opportunities to be a nurse sub with early childhood screening, which takes place once a month. CPR and First Aid certification is required; applicants must have a current nursing license.

Please use the link below to find a full posting and online application. If you have any questions, please call Michelle Noha, district nurse, at 763-792-5011, or email her at mnoha@isd12.org.

We are excited to invite our students and families to the homecoming football game on Friday, September 24 at 7:00 PM to cheer on the Cougar football team.
Please be reminded of the following stadium policies and information:

  • Elementary-aged children need to be accompanied and supervised by their parents/guardians.
  • To maintain a safe environment, students are expected to be in the stands or with their parents.
  • Outside food, drinks and balls are not permitted into the stadium.

We appreciate our fans! Thank you for your support!

We wish our players, staff, and fans a safe and enjoyable football season. Go Cougars!

Updating Annual Student Information

Centennial has moved to an online, contactless method using Campus Portal so families can update annual information for students. This process closes today on Friday, September 24, 2021.   This new process eliminates the many beginning-of-the-year paper documents that would typically be collected during the first few weeks of school.
Please review and update the data on file for you as parent/guardians as well as your students by
Friday, September 24, 2021.
Below are some links to help you login to your Parent Portal account:
