The cold weather will be here soon. Students will continue to go outside for recess each day for 30 minutes. Please make sure your student comes to school with appropriate gear for the weather: heavy winter coat, warm hat, mittens or gloves, boots, and snow pants. Labeling all winter clothing with a permanent marker with your child’s first and last name will help us return any misplaced items to your student.
All students are expected to go outdoors for recess for 30 minutes every day unless the wind chill or temperature is -10 degrees F or colder (indoor recess at that temp).
Students will have a shortened recess if the air temperature or wind chill is between -1 degrees F and -9 degrees F.
We are unable to loan winter gear to students who come to school unprepared for the weather. This is for sanitary reasons.
We are not able to accommodate students remaining indoors during recess unless they have a note from a doctor.
