UPDATE ON MASKING GUIDELINES

Changes in masking guidelines go into affect after Friday, March 4, 2022

Note: Students and staff may choose to wear a mask at any time.

In the classroom: Masking will no longer be required if there is one COVID-positive case or person absent with COVID-like symptoms in a classroom during the reporting period. Additional mitigation strategies may be required (and may include masking) if there is an outbreak or increase in COVID cases and/or COVID-like illnesses.

Data will continue to be tracked and cases will be reviewed. Families will be notified of any additional mitigation strategies.

In the school: If 5% or more of students and staff at the school site are absent with COVID cases or COVID-like symptoms face coverings will be required, regardless of vaccination status for a minimum of 10 days.

On the school bus: Masking on our buses will no longer be required. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not requiring face coverings on buses or vans operated by public school systems, including early child care and education/child care programs.

Centennial Dashboard: Centennial will continue to monitor COVID-19 cases and COVID-like illness in the schools and will update the COVID dashboard weekly. Click here for more information on Centennial’s Safe Learning Plan.

The district’s COVID team will continue to meet regularly to review and monitor COVID-19 cases in the event that Centennial needs to reconsider and update the district’s Safe Learning Plan.

Masking Guidelines Reminder

Shortened quarantine: All students and staff must wear a mask, days six - 10, if they are returning under the shortened quarantine guidelines. (NEW) Early childhood and preschool will also follow the shortened quarantine guidelines. Click here for shortened quarantine information.
