About Centerville Elementary

Centerville Elementary prepares students for a successful today and
tomorrow! Caring staff, respectful students, and a small-town feel distinguish this school serving young people in grades pre-K through five. We are a school focused on positive behavior, with students who can readily tell you that Cougar Pride consists of growing in respect, responsibility, right choices, and readiness.

As a connecting hub for five unique communities, Centennial offers vibrant learning environments and a track record of academic success.

The Centerville Elementary student leadership team helped organize and promote a food drive that collected over 7,000 items weighing 8,000 pounds.  The students helped our community immensely! A shout out to the Centennial Lakes Fire Department for deliveringthe donations to the Circle Pines Food Shelf.

Skyanne R. (5) designed the 2021 Fete des Lacs (Festival of Lakes) logo for the week-long event which honors the city of Centerville’s history.

Even the cougar mascot joined in on the fun at the Fete des Lacs parade.

To honor and thank veterans, Centerville Elementary students
created tributes and posted the signage along Main Street in Centerville.

Vibrant learning environments and a personalized, team approach support the
strengths and address the challenges of each individual student.

Centerville Elementary was recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education
in 2020 as a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) Sustaining Exemplar
School. Students have found success showing respect, responsibility, readiness,
and making the right choices.

A transparent and good steward of public resources, Centennial is
guided by a strategic plan developed in collaboration with staff,
parents, and community members and prepares students for success.

AVID (Achievement Via Individual Determination) is a learning support
structure in place at Centerville Elementary that helps empower
students to take their academics to the next level and sets them up for
educational success. An important aspect of AVID is the belief that one
can improve! Centerville Elementary is a showcase school and has
hosted other schools in the metro to show the impact of the program
on student learning. AVID promotes rigor and student agency.
AVID helps improve outcomes in academic performance, builds critical
reading and thinking skills, uses writing as a powerful thinking and
communication tool, and fosters collaboration among students and
teachers. Students learn interpersonal and communication skills and
develop creative solutions to new problems in collaborative ways.
