Cougar News 4-29-22

Attention current 11th graders and parents:

The School Immunization Law in Minnesota requires all students enrolled in grades K-12 to show they have received certain immunizations or an exemption. This is a reminder that the Meningococcal booster is a required immunization for all 12th graders. Please schedule an appointment for your 11th grader to get the Meningococcal vaccination prior to entering 12th grade or fill out the conscious objector form on the MDH website, have it signed by a notary and return to the school, to meet the School Immunization Law in Minnesota standards.

You can find the MDH immunization (page 1) and conscious objector (page 2) form below. Please ensure it is filled out completely and returned to the school to be accepted. Immunization Record Form - MN Dept of Health (

Congratulations to our Senior STRIVE students this year.  This year the Centennial Chain of Lakes STRIVE program will award $1500 in scholarships.

STRIVE stands for “Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education”.  The STRIVE program has been developed and expanded by Rotarians and hopes to inspire students and prepare them with confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams and contribute to their community.

This exciting program has been successful in many communities across the state and nation. The program focuses on providing support and incentives for students to improve their academic achievement and realize their true potential for obtaining post-secondary education.   Leaders from the Chain of Lakes Rotary are excited to share their knowledge and expertise with the selected students. If you want further information, please contact Angie Law, School Counselor.

A few weeks ago, Centennial's Robotics Team 2472 competed with 54 other teams at the North Star Regional at the University of Minnesota's Mariucci Arena. Our robot (named Spes, after the Goddess of Hope) performed admirably in 10 qualification rounds, but was not chosen for an alliance during the elimination rounds. We are very proud of our team, especially seniors Isaac Beuning, Mafalda Dias, Jonathan Foreman, Micah Hatch, and Rose Michelson!

We are looking forward to a summer full of outreach activities - make sure to come see us at the State Fair and the Community Ed Food Truck Festival!
