Back to School Kick-Off Information

August 19, 2019

CMS Back to School Kick-Off Information 2019

Student schedules will be available via the Parent Portal on Monday, August 19th beginning at 3 pm

New this year:  We will no longer be printing all the student schedules.  Be sure to bring a printed copy of your student schedule or else take a screenshot of the schedule so it’s available to you during Materials Drop Off and Open House

New this year: Student pictures will be taken by Lifetouch during the Materials Drop Off days. Photos are used for school IDs. It is required that all students have photos taken. If you are planning to purchase pictures, please order a picture package online via the Middle School webpage or click directly on the link https://my.lifetouch.com/mylifetouch/#/pictureDayId/EVTMDS6ZX.  You may also fill out a Lifetouch payment envelope at Materials Drop Off.

Tuesday, August 20th 4-7 pm and Tuesday, August 27th 4-7 pm are Materials Drop Off Days!

These two days are opportunities for students to put their supplies in their lockers.  Pre-ordered AVID Binder Packs will be ready for pick-up in the gymnasium and other important information, including 6th grade locks and locker assignments, will be available at that time. Returning 7th and 8th grade students need to bring their locks with them.

NOTE:  Locker assignments, team assignments and PIN #’s are available on Parent Portal.

Tuesday, August 27th is also an Open House from 5-7 pm. This is for students and families. You will be able to walk around the building and meet the teachers during that time.

Tuesday, September 3rd is the 1st day of school! All students should bring their schedule and lock to school with them if they have not already brought them in during one of the Materials Drop Off Days.

Wednesday, September 4th is Picture Make-Up Day. This is a chance for students to have their pictures taken if they didn’t get them taken at Materials Drop Off.

Please note:  Hallways and classrooms will only be open to students and families during the Materials Drop Off times on August 20th and 27th. The custodial staff will be preparing the building and staff will be participating in workshop experiences during normal school day hours.  If your family will be gone for a vacation and will be unable to attend one of the Materials Drop Off evenings, don’t worry!  We have ways to support students on the first day of school beginning at 7:40 am. Thank you for respecting the professional needs of the staff.

We look forward to providing robust programming and to reconnecting and building new relationships with new students and families.  Thank you!
